Videography
SkyView Solutions operates specialist videography equipment for capturing geo-referenced footage simultaneously recorded from up to 4 cameras. The cameras, GPS and hard drive recorder are compact and rugged and can be attached to a range of vehicles including quadbikes, 4WDs, golf buggies and boats.
Our software package is a geospatial multimedia mapping application that digitally maps video, photographs and audio content using GPS coordinates. We can also load background topographic maps, aerial or satellite imagery into the digital map set. Combining time, date and location with audiovisual content is a powerful tool for ensuring efficient and effective management of infrastructure, and monitoring of temporal changes to the landscape.
We can tailor the data output to match your existing GIS software package or convert it for viewing in web-based applications like Google Earth.
Potential uses of this technology include:
- Post-natural disaster/weather event damage assessments (particularly for roads and waterways).
- Mapping of remote tracks and trails using the video to extract location and still images of key features such as gates, grids, bridges, shelters, culverts, drains, roads, signs and weeds.
- Mapping of rivers to identify changes in geomorphology, riparian vegetation and success of rehabilitation zones.
- Video mapping of powerlines and other utilities to geo-reference infrastructure and assess the conditions of access tracks.
- Using thermal lenses to monitor conveyors to predict potential bearing failures, allowing for more efficient servicing.
- Video mapping of footpaths to assist councils identify potential hazards and establish a priority-based maintenance schedule.
- And more… We are happy to explore options to a range of management problems.
